Updated Distraction

The programming has been going well, still learning more, but progressively getting better.  Tomorrow though of course if the Miami Heat/Cleveland Cavaliers game that I cannot wait for.  Just excited to see the reception that Lebron James gets and all the talk he will have to endure.  I expect the Miami Heat to win the game, but if not... it's going to be like Cleveland just won a championship.

Inception coming out December 7th, can't wait!

Learning curve

At this point, I now have a basic understanding of PHP.  MySQL is the next destination.  I stopped my login/registration programming because I felt like I got way too ahead of myself.  Baby steps...
You all must be thinking, "This guy is stupid, why a social network?"  Well it's a matter of the creative ideas that I keep in my head.  Who will listen when I give the ideas?  Will anyone actually implement them?  My friend and I have taken it upon ourselves to see if we can make these ideas come to life.  If this project ends up in the ditches, it's still a win win as we now have the knowledge to program with another language.  Quite useful too just incase we decide to make another project.  We are community college students who have never strived for the potential that we are capable of.  This is our chance... and certainly not the last.

The ideas that set in

My state of mind right now is to create this website which originally was supposed to just be about working around with this blog.  People's actions and reactions have influenced me to create something to sort of... let them get into, how do you say this, a "deeper level"?  Now in order to create this website, i'm trying to learn some PHP.  Perhaps buying a book is the best way to learn, but with monetary issues, it's likely that I will have to rely on the internet.   I developed a poor algorithm and have drawn up ideas on the layout of the website.  If I was code-savy, maybe this wouldn't all be just a dream right now, but a few-weeks-reality.  So my first challenge is developing a log-in/register page.  Now to many of you, this is simple.  I've done my share of C++, Java, QBasic, so i'm not exactly programming deficient. But to make a website where you have to create databases, using php with html, can't forget about mysql, it's going to be a LONG step forward.
